On June 25, British Singer-Songwriter Luca Wilding released the music video for his emotionally beautiful and raw single “Heartarchers”, the first release from his upcoming debut album, To, out on Abbey Records later this year. The theme of the song and video delves into the concept of temporary. The beginning of Patrick Fileti’s short film introduces us to the main character and his love interest. She says,
“Nada es para siempre en la tierra, solo un poco aquí”
translating to: nothing is forever on earth, only a little bit here. In regard to the temporary, Wilding had said this about his new single:
“Heartachers is about learning to let go of what was. It was meant as a kind of call to arms; an invocation of the strength it takes to overcome the mountains of the mind. It tells the simple story of trying to love someone through all their pain and despite their sadness.”
The climax of both the song and the music video occur during Feria Nacional de la Pirotecnia (The National Pyrotechnic Festival), which celebrates Mexico’s tradition of production and use of fireworks. Here, we see the main character at his happiest and his most self-destructive. The exhilaration from pushing a Torito (a bull-shaped frame with fireworks) and surrounded by enough fireworks to overwhelm the senses overtakes him both physically and mentally.
