Leah Rye has just released her new single ‘Agrypnia’ and it is a gripping track infusing indie and jazz. This is the first single of her “Elusive” EP which releases in 2021. This marks the third single release for her this year. It follows the success of ‘All I Got’, ‘High’, ‘YHNLM’, and ‘The Wire’, where the latter two were released last year.
Right from the start, the piano melody accompanies her shadowy voice while she sings. Balancing both genres, she uses light electronic elements to create an organic sound as well.
Taking you to another dimension, she invites you to dream with her. As the “world is on fire”, it’s almost a haunting piece but it makes you think. There is emotion, melancholy, and gentle grooves to follow.
It’s interesting to note that the “agrypnia” is a syndrome characterized by persistent loss of sleep and permanent motor/autonomic hyperactivation. So her mantra — dream with me — is an excellent theme. Let this track cure your insomnia or sleeplessness through its dreamscape sound. The smooth and calming electronic elements in her tracks really guide you through reality, fantasy, chaos, acceptance, and redemption.
