On April 7th, Matthew Pinder released the highly anticipated music video for his song “Blue” featuring the beautiful voice of Sara Davis Regan.
What can I say except: wow. Both the song itself and music video have such a calming effect that allowed me to forget about the chaos of the world for just a brief moment. “Blue” is a beautifully composed piece of art that successfully leaves the listener feeling safe. Safe in the sense that things will be okay in the end.
Matthew doesn’t remember writing this song. He says that he didn’t have any plans in the aftermath of losing his mom. “I think I knew I would eventually make songs again but I started feeling tired of the artist image I created.” It became less important for Matthew to create songs that were deep and vulnerable. The focus was now on making people feel good. “I like “Blue”, it makes me feel good… I just hope that whoever listens this song can make their own meaning out of it.”
