At a sold-out Warfield, the energy was electric on Sunday night as Toronto quartet The Beaches took the stage. Opening with their fiery lead single, “Last Girl at the Party,” the band instantly had the crowd moving and dancing.
Their signature blend of fun and vulnerability shone throughout the set. Lead singer Jordan Miller shared a hilarious story about being single for 19 days before launching into the fan-favorite “Me & Me.” Midway through the show, Jordan and Leandra slowed things down for a heartfelt performance of “Lesbian of the Year,” a song Leandra explained was about her experience coming out later in life.
If there’s one thing you can count on at a Beaches concert, it’s that the queer community shows up — and they did. Pride flags lined the barricade, and one even made its way into Earl’s hands, reading “Lesbian of the Year” and her photo underneath — a truly special moment.
The show closed with a powerful run of hits, including “Edge of the Earth” and “Blame Brett,” leaving the entire venue roaring for more. And more they got — with a three-song encore that had everyone forgetting Monday morning was just around the corner.
