It was a surreal moment photographing the Bad Suns show on Saturday, February 5th. Not just because I was able to watch one of my favorite bands live, but that it was a sort of redemption arch for me. Four years ago they were the first headline band I’d ever photographed. Looking back to those photos and comparing them to the gallery below I can truly see how much I’ve improved in that short amount of time.
Last Saturday I saw how much they’ve grown since I last saw them four years ago. They all seemed more confident, like they truly owned the stage. Their presence was more prominent, their playing was more energetic, and the overall atmosphere shifted compared to the last time I saw them.
They played classics such as “Heartbreaker, “Disappear Here”, and a rendition of my favorite song, “20 Years”. These songs mixed in nicely with the newest additions of their discography. I, as well as the crowd, had the time of my life singing – or should I say screaming – along to each song. Long time fans will appreciate their set and new fans will fall in love with Bad Suns. I cannot recommend their show enough.
