Egyptian born, Dubai based artist Bayou is here with some new music for us. His latest single is titled “Alone” and is inspired by his cultural heritage and unrequited love. While listening, you’ll certainly lose yourself to its infectious Arabian melodies and rich, sonic soundscape. Set to release June 19th, check out this groovy track.
Right from the start, the song details a relationship on the brink of demise. Lush flamenco melodies propel the track forward, accompanied by Bayou’s smooth vocal prowess. He adds the perfect atmosphere to this R&B/soul track. Listen for the ‘cat and mouse’ struggle, that is relatable to all relationships. Bayou even explains, “I realized the woman I once cherished manipulated me for her own selfish gain.” We can see this song being played while roaming the beach, or watching a sunset overlooking a Spanish town.
Growing up in the Middle East—predominantly Dubai—Bayou is proud and passionate about his Arabian heritage. His debut single “Moonlight” released in 2019, and was inspired by oriental belly dancers in Egypt. Furthermore, he draws musical inspiration from North London artist Col3trane and R&B singer Anfa Rose for sweet, luxurious groove.
With support from COLORS and an upcoming EP later this year, “Alone” is Bayou’s third single and a stark indication of true rising artistic talent.
