Showcasing artists going against the norm

Black Pumas

12.15.21 | Masonic | San Francisco, CA

As the holiday season and rain roll into San Francisco on an early December night, Black Pumas took the stage to an energetic crowd at the SF Masonic in San Francisco, CA. The Austin-based rock band – made up of vocalist Eric Burton and guitarist Adrian Quesada – are currently on an extended US fall and winter tour in support of their debut album, Black Pumas. The band was just nominated for three Grammys, including album of the year for Black Pumas (Deluxe Edition), and both record of the year and best American roots performance for the track “Colors.”

The Black Pumas opened with an extended version of “Next To You” and the crowd was treated to a surprise as Burton hopped into the crowd and sang from the pit for the next two songs. The crowd thoroughly enjoyed the up-close and intimate performance delivered by Burton for their next song “Old Man.” As the show resumed back to its regularly scheduled programming on stage, and Black Pumas played their hit songs “OCT 33” and “Colors” to close out the set, the crowd was singing along to every word. All in all, an awesome show.
