Daisy the Great, composed of Kelley Dugan and Mina Walker, revved up the crowd during their opening set at the Fox Theater last night. Their music didn’t clash with what Kooks fans would usually vibe with. It was beautiful hearing half the audience scream along to the chorus of their hit single, “The Record Player Song.”
To summarize it in one sentence: it was a great set! Those who experienced Daisy the Great live for the first time — or who were never exposed to their music before their Oakland Fox Theater show — quickly became fans of the duo. They were lively, their smiles were infectious, and the quality of their performance sounded similarly to the studio recordings.
