Showcasing artists going against the norm

Finding Balance with Faun Flora’s See You At The Funeral

Phoenix, Arizona-based upcoming artist Faun Flora is quickly rising in popularity with her unique perspective on synth pop, along with a steady release of singles since 2014. Her latest single, “See You At The Funeral”, was released on October 29th and follows a delicate line between light and dark.

This dreamy, melodic track memorializes the death of a relationship with a funeral. Love can exist in a variety of ways – between friends, partners, family members, etc. – and the loss of such can be devastating beyond belief. In my short lifetime, I’ve grown away from friends, lost lovers, and drifted away from family members, but once that relationship enters a point of no return, “See You At The Funeral” expresses everything I need to say, feel, and do.

Despite Faun Flora’s metaphorical funeral, this doesn’t mark the end for pain and nostalgic trauma. As Faun puts it “time will be the only thing we’re against”. Funerals in any sense are a necessary rite of passage, I think “See You At The Funeral” is the perspective we need to make that transition just a little smoother.
