Jimkata have recently released a mesmerising animated music video for their newest five minute track “Wait For You”. The track tells a story of sitting around waiting and the feeling of being in limbo and the video definitely helps the song narrate that feeling. The video brings depth and helps illustrate the initial feeling of waiting which was created by talented animator Ben Clarkson.
It’s important that music video’s help portray a feeling for the track and this video has hit the nail on the head. Jimkata have only had this video up for a week on YouTube and is growing rapidly with already 7k views. Fans are absolutely loving it with its primary colour palette and great attention to detail.
Apart from the video, the song itself is a very catchy, up beat track that calls to my soul, especially when the chorus hits you with a wave of synth washed rock sounds. Vocalist Evan Friedell outlines “I didn’t realise at the time I wrote it how prescient and universal that feeling would become as we experience a global pandemic and a world in chaos”, which rings true as you listen to this song. It fits perfectly with how everything is going on at the moment.
If you have never heard of this band before, do yourself a huge favour and go listen! You don’t want to miss out on this.
