Showcasing artists going against the norm

May 13, 2022 Michelle Castillo

Yumi Zouma

On Tuesday, May 3rd, I have the amazing opportunity of attending Yumi Zouma’s show at the Independent in San Francisco, California. The perfect way to relax after a busy work day, I was mesmerized by the band’s jubilant performance.

Just a few weeks ago, the alt-pop band released their eagerly awaited fourth studio album Present Tense. Created at the beginning of the pandemic in separate parts of the world, the band had come together remotely and in person to create their critically acclaimed album. Now, they have embarked on their world tour with their North America leg ending just last week.

It was an incredible experience listening to Present Tense live. The intimate venue made it easy to be transfixed by their performance. It wasn’t flashy by any means — this made it easier to enjoy each note the group played. This was also a reflection of the band itself. Simple yet serene.

For those on the other side of the world, you’re in for a treat with this tour. Make sure to buy your tickets using the link below!
