Lindsey Jordan, also known as Snail Mail, is currently on her first major tour for her sophomore album Valentine! Adorned with cupid statues across the stage, Lindsey mesmerized the Fox Theater crowd with her gorgeous voice. Each note she hit put the crowd in a trance, and it seemed that it did the same to her as well.

Thank you so much for interviewing with me! Could you introduce yourself for those who might not know you?

Hey, I’m Lindsey from Snail Mail

In three words, how would you describe your sound?

Goated with sauce

You had said in a previous interview that after your debut album Lush, you had “struggled” to figure out who you wanted to be as an artist. Did your time off from touring due to the pandemic help you in this sort of self-discovery?

I never felt like I struggled to figure out who I was per say. It was more about wanting to take time to make my next record special and intentional. It takes me SO long to finish a song because I agonize over every detail. I think the seemingly endless nature of the pandemic put me at ease enough to just focus on writing and not worry about when it would get done.

How does it feel touring for your critically acclaimed album Valentine?

It’s been excellent so far! Loving these shows and getting to see a response finally. It’s so strange to release a record and not be able to play shows immediately after to see people react.

What has been your favorite moment on tour so far?

I love the shows the most, but I also love the drive days because everyone is forced to hang out together on the bus and play board games and stuff. I love the forced camaraderie.
