StrateJacket are a trio of talented, passionate musicians ready to take the world by storm with their music. Comprised of Jackson Roemers (lead vocals/guitar), Fabian Angel (vocals/bass) and Nate Mangold (drums), the band has so far created a wonderful discography with songs that will play on repeat in your head for the rest of the day.
Their lead single “Bad Start” from their upcoming debut album has that nostalgic late ’90s/early 2000s vibe mixed in with their signature energetic sound and catchy lyricism. I had the pleasure of listening to this song live during their Bottom of the Hill performance on February 1st. Yelling the chorus along with the band, fans, and friends was a wonderful experience.
“Bad Start” was one of the first songs they wrote as a band. Roemers was quoted in saying that the trio didn’t know what to make of it when it was completed. After sharing it with the team, this track became a template for their current sound.
It was a combination of loud chanty vocals mixed with these layered keyboards and guitars and a message that pretty much says ‘I’m an idiot but I mean well.’ It was perfectly imperfect and over the years we’ve really learned to love it.
